Walrath’s story began in 1968 with a single 1963 Peterbilt log truck and a commitment to honest, dependable work. Tom Walrath Sr. built the company from the driver’s seat, while his wife, Marlene, managed the books behind the scenes. For nearly two decades, they carried the business forward together, one day at a time.
In 1987, their son Tom Jr. joined his dad on the road, marking the next generation of leadership in the family business. What began as one truck has grown into a successful operation with more than 120 employees, Sand and Soil technology divisions, Walrath Landscape Supply locations, and garden center operations.
Even as the company has grown, T.E. Walrath has stayed grounded in the values it was built on: family, hard work, integrity, quality service, and respect for the people who make the work possible. Today, the 3rd generation of Walrath's continue to move forward with the same small-town, family-owned values that shaped their beginning: Enhancing Lives, While Serving Others.
